A talent management, workforce, training, and performance evaluation professional for more than 7 years, James McCarthy has worked with multiple pharmaceutical companies and the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, where he managed the design, delivery, and evaluation of professional training initiatives. Soon after working with the medical school in Worcester, Massachusetts, James McCarthy was hired by Alden Credit Union as a senior learning consultant.

In this role, he collaborates with human resources, IT, stakeholders, and vendors to modernize the organization’s digital learning infrastructure. He has also embedded LinkedIn Learning into the Docebo LMS to allow employees to improve their skills and enable them to engage in self-directed microlearning related to department-specific training needs.
He has also authored the internal training documentation and standard operating procedures manual to guide management system administrators, improve system consistency, support audit readiness, and promote information sharing between HR and IT teams. Additionally, he uses analytics harvested from the LMS and user feedback to make improvements for remote and hybrid staff members. Through these initiatives, Mr. McCarthy has reduced new hire onboarding time and training costs.
In addition to his work with Alden Credit Union, Mr. McCarthy teaches business courses at Anna Maria College and teaches economics and sociology courses at Quinsigamond Community College. He also coaches first-generation and non-traditional students to support their academic progress and career readiness.
